October 24, 1987 Jim Thorpe's defense forces four turnovers and records a shutout in gaining a 13-0 victory over Cardinal Brennan. The Olympians, coached by Art Guth, receive interceptions from Tom Mase and Tom Lienhard and fumble recoveries from Mase and Sam Bonner. Thorpe's defensive line, led by Wally Augustine and Paul Sibbach, limit the Chargers to 93 yards rushing. The offense scores a pair of touchdowns one on a 62-yard run by Al Bayard and the other on a 51-yard run by Alan Guth.
