Granted divorce
Marcia A. Keefer was granted a divorce from Dennis A. Keefer, both of Pottsville. They were married June 27, 1987.
Drop charges
Criminal charges were dismissed against four defendants by President Judge William E. Baldwin on motion by District Attorney James P. Goodman.
Charges of simple assault and harassment were nolle prossed against Sandra Branham, 46, of Orwigsburg. Goodman said the victim did not wish to prosecute. It was a domestic dispute.
Drug charges were dismissed against Michael Joseph McNulty, 44, Minersville. Goodman told the court the reason was because of prosecution discretion as the Commonwealth is unable to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt because the drugs found in possession of the defendant were not sent to a lab to be tested for its contents.
Theft of a flower basket from a porch in Mahanoy City were dismissed against Mark Yacovelloi, 42, Mahanoy City. Goodman told the court the victim received restitution and did not want to further prosecute.
Drug charges were dismissed against Jason Brad Lucas, 33, Schuylkill Haven.
Although the defendants were freed of criminal charges they still have to pay the costs of prosecution.
Revoke program
Hans K. Sims, 29, Mahanoy City, was removed by Judge John E. Domalakes from the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) and was re-sentenced to serve 60 days to six months in the county prison. He had pleaded guilty to driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol and was placed on strict probation for six months.
Seek foreclosure
The Jim Thorpe National Bank, of Jim Thorpe, filed suit against Ronald W. Bower, 167 Moser Avewnue, Coaldale, alleging he defaulted on mortgage payments and the bank seeks a judgement for $8,709.59 and foreclosure and sale of the property.
Seeks eviction
Michael D. Marchalk, 263 Lafayette St., Tamaqua, filed suit against Thomas and Sharom Antolick seeking to take possession of the property they are residing in at 28 Walnut Street, Delano.
The suit claims Marchalk purchased the property and permitted the Antolichs to reside there. Under terms of the agreement they were to pay all taxes and utility services. He claims they breached the agreement and he now seeks possession of the property.
Credit default
Remit Corporation, Bloomsburg, filed suit against Lisa L. Schaeffer, 31 Hunter St., Tamaqua, alleging she has defaulted payments on her credit card account and seek a judgement in amount of $1,201.61 plus interest and costs.
Mortgage default
Northwest Consumer Company, doing business as Pottsville Financial Services, filed suit against Denise A. Genus claiming she has defaulted on mortgage payments on property at 83 Valley St., New Philadelphia, and seeks a judgement in amount of $21,451.87 plus interest and costs.
