Scarecrow display a big success

Dear Editor:

On behalf of the Palmerton Area Chamber of Commerce I wish to thank the Palmerton businesses for their cooperation in our first Scarecrow Display. The creativity and ingenuity shown was very impressive, as was the high level of participation.

Hopefully we can continue this project next year with even more scarecrows gracing our streets.

I also wish to thank the Times News and Terry Ahner for their coverage of the event, allowing visitors from our neighboring towns to view our display after having seen the write-ups in the paper.

A thank you to Palmerton Lumber Co. for providing stands for those that needed them. The Chamber hopes everyone enjoyed our scarecrows which were the beginning of Palmerton's celebration of the centennial of our incorporation.
