Pastor retires
The Rev. Joseph Lachcik of St. Matthew's UCC is retiring from the ministry. His last worship service is 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 11. The service will close with a formal ending of authorized ministry, led by the Rev. Toby Holleman, associate conference minister, PNEC.
After the service, there will be a Farewell Lunch in honor of Rev. Lachcik and his wife, Nancy and their children. If you would like to attend, please bring a covered dish or dessert.
Rev. Lachcik has served St. Matthew's for 11 years.
9/11 service
Sunday, Sept. 11 marks the 10th anniversary of the horrific events of Sept. 11, 2001. St. Matthew's will hold a service of special music, prayer and time of remembrance during it's 9 a.m. worship service. All are welcome to join St. Matthew's in this solemn observance.

Chestnut Ridge Seniors
The Chestnut Ridge Seniors will meet on Thursday, Sept. 8 at 11 a.m. at the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Co. They will be celebrating Labor Day with hot dogs and ice cream. They will be playing bingo.
