Local athlete off to Lock Haven Univ.
Dean James DiBonifazio, a prominent local athlete in the basketball, golf and baseball arenas, has chosen Lock Haven State University to continue his academic career.
A member of the 2011 senior class of Jim Thorpe Area High School, he was awarded this year's Most Valuable Player in both basketball and golf. In addition to these awards, he was chosen as the school Best Offensive Basketball Player for the 2011 season.
While at Lock Haven, he will pursue a bachelor of science degree in business administration with a concentration in gaming management.
DiBonifazio is the son of Mary Kemmerle of Jim Thorpe and Dean DiBonifazio of Weatherly. He is the grandson of Agnes Augustine of Weatherly, Louis DiBonifazio of Orefield; and James and Dolores Cusate of Hazleton.
