September 8, 2000 Matt Long completes 16-of-26 passes for 306 yards and four touchdowns to lead Jim Thorpe to a 34-20 victory over Mahanoy Area. Michael Cody catches eight passes for 101 yards and two scores while Don Evans snags five passes for 153 yards and two TDs. The Olympians, coached by Mark Rosenberger, also get 93 yards rushing and a TD from Dave Melicharek. On defense, Thorpe's Harvey Grajales intercepts two passes.
