Schuylkill driver charged

A Schuylkill County driver was charged following an incident that occurred about 8:28 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 5, along SR61 at the jughandle turnaround between Mount Carbon and the Cressona Mall, North Manheim Township.

Troopers said Vanessa A. Bercher, 30, of Auburn, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt southbound and approaching the jughandle when she traveled off the right side of the road and her vehicle struck a traffic sign.

Upon impact Bercher continued south on 61 until the car became disabled. She was not injured.

She was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic, troopers said.
