Driver cited after Monroe collision
One of two drivers involved in a crash that occurred about 7:35 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, at the intersection of SR715 and Effort Neola Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, has been cited.
State police at Fern Ridge said Alyssa S. Walsh, 20, of Saylorsburg, was northbound on 715 in a Dodge Stratus behind a 2004 Ford bus driven by Alfred V. Nyegaard, 85, of Gilbert. Nyegaard stopped at the intersection for a posted sign intending to go eastbound on the Neola Effort Road. Troopers said Walsh started to overtake the bus on the left and traveled into the southbound lane, then back into the northbound lane and passed the bus. As the bus pulled out the front of the Stratus struck the bus on the right rear.
No one was injured. Troopers cited Walsh for limitations on overtaking on the left.
