League to meet
The Anthracite Little League will hold a meeting to begin planning for the 2012 season on Sunday, Sept. 18, at 6 p.m. Persons interested in attending can contact Roobhenn Smith, (570) 645-5385, for the meeting location.
CCD news
Registration for the upcoming CCD program for public school students of the Catholic parishes of the Panther Valley (grades 1-8) will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 9 a.m. to noon in St. Joseph Church, Summit Hill; and on Sunday, Sept. 18, from 8 a.m. to noon in St. Katharine Drexel Church, Lansford. Parents are reminded to enroll their child (wren) on these dates in order to avoid a late registration fee.
The classes will begin Sunday, Sept. 25.
Authority office
The office of the Coaldale-Lansford-Summit Hill Joint Sewer Authority has moved and is now located at 162 W. Ridge St., Lansford. The office's administrative manager is Tonia Collevechio, who can be reached at (570) 645-2445.
Food distribution
The Summit Hill Food Pantry distributes food boxes to eligible families in town on a monthly basis. Deliveries are usually made on the fourth Tuesday of the month between 10 a.m. and noon.

First Congregational Church
Sunday School will open at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, at First Congregational Church, Ruddle Street, following morning worship at 9 a.m. Children and youth ages 2-18 are welcome.
The Women's Class will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20.
Morning worship will take place at 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 25. Sunday School for all ages is set for 10 a.m.

Slovak cemetery
The next meeting of the Protestant Slovak Cemetery Association will be held on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Nesquehoning. Interested persons are all welcome.
