Bennett, IUP off to strong start in rugby

Murphy Bennett and her Indiana University of Pennsylvania reguby teammates open defense of last year league championship with two convincing wins to start the 2011 season.

IUP defeated California University of Pa., 63-0 and routed Juniata College, 91-0.

A year ago, IUP finished 23rd in the nation in women's club rugby.

Bennet is the daughter of Rick and Debby Bennett and was Tamaqua's female scholar athlete her senior season. She is majoring in Deaf Education and has made the Dean's list all six semesters.
