Panther Valley hires coaches, sets ticket prices
Panther Valley School Board on Thursday set ticket prices for games and hired coaches.
The board hired baseball coaches John Cooper at $3,250; Jimmy Kravelk at $2,175; Phil Shelton Jr. at $1,700, and Jeff Szczecina, Robert Fritzinger, Matt Davis and Kyle Krajnak as volunteer coaches.
Track and filed coaches included Francis O'Gorman at $2,600; Michele Markovich at $1,500; Jason Harrison at $1,400, and Fenton Black as a volunteer.
It also hired Ryan Fritzinger as a volunteer football coach and Amber Vachon as a volunteer cheerleading coach.
The board hired James Hull as an event staff worker at $25 per event, and Jon Williams, John Williams, Ann Marie Williams, John Horvath, Mary Louise Guaronsky, Ted Guaronsky, Rich Gilbert, John Cooper, Jeff Szczecina, and Dick McIntyre as winter workers at $25 each per event.
The school board also set winter ticket prices: fall season family of four $70; extra person $20; students $25; and single person $35. Girls and boys basketball games adults $5 and students $3; wrestling meets adults $5 and students $3; junior high and freshman games adults $3 and students $2.
The board pointed out that there will no longer be senior passes. However, existing senior passes will be grandfathered.
It will cost sports fans $2 to park in the new lot at the stadium. The board also agreed that the stadium may be used for a playoff game at a price of $2,931.
Also on Thursday, the board agreed to buy a softball scoreboard from Degler Whiting for $5,200. Panther Valley senior Sam Zlock raised money for the board as her senior project. So far, she's collected $3,876 toward the cost.
