September 27, 1996 Karianne Kubin scores four goals to help Lehighton's field hockey team open Mountain Valley Conference play with a 5-1 victory over Nazareth. After the Blue Eagles gain a lead, Sara Schaeffer scores unassited to tie the game. Kubin breaks the deadlock with a goal in the first half, and adds three more in the second half. Alison Semanoff contributes an assist while Jocelyn Kirsch makes 10 saves for the Indians, coached by Sharon Elder.
