Lehighton couple wed 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. William A. Nace Sr. are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

They were married Sept. 29, 1961 in Lehighton.

Mrs. Nace is the former Naomi Smith, daughter of the late Jonathan D. Smith Jr. and Ellen S. Smith of Lehighton. Her husband is the son of the late William T. Nice and Catherine E. Nace, Lehighton.

The couple has six children: William A. Nace Jr., Lehighton; Maryjane L. Stuckley, wife of Raymond Stuckley III, Lehighton; Trudy A. Blew, wife of Wesley Blew, Lehighton; Tammy M. Shook, wife of Franklin Shook, Lansford; Patricia L. Palka, wife of Matthew Palka, Jim Thorpe; and Kyle J. Nace, Lehighton.

They have eight grandchildren and one stepgrandchild and two great-grandchildren.

A surprise party in the couple's honor was held on Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lehighton.
