Tamaqua couple wed 60 years

Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Erbe of Tamaqua celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 22. They were married in St. Jerome's Rectory, Tamaqua, by the late Rev. Joseph Dougherty.

Mrs. Erbe is the former Dolores Marcin, daughter of the late Michael and Bernetta Marcin of Tamaqua.

Mr. Erbe is the son of the late Walter and Sarah Erbe of Tamaqua.

They are the parents of seven children: Lewis and his wife, Tana, of Rising Sun, Md.; Lewann, wife of Bruce Neifert of Canton, Pa.; Susan, wife of Robert Schlosser of Elizabethtown; Loretta, wife of John McLaughlin of Andreas; Mary Lou, wife of the late John Portz of Elizabethtown; Lisa, wife of Robert Gerber of the Lewistown Valley; and Karen, wife of Barry Bankler of Lancaster. They also have 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A family dinner was held at La Dolce Casa in Tamaqua to celebrate the special occasion.
