September 30, 1950 Slatington scores a pair of touchdowns in the opening quarter and hangs on to defeat Lehighton, 14-0, at Victory Park in both team's Lehigh Valley League opener. The Slaters get on the board early when Bruce Kemmerer returns a punt 92 yards for a score. Later in the first period, Romaine Ross breaks loose for a 35-yard TD run. Slatington's defense, which forces three turnovers, does the rest in recording the shutout.
