Palmerton sports actions

Palmerton Area School Board at a special meeting on Tuesday unanimously approved the following extraccuricular positions, pending contract negotiations, for the 2012-13 school year:

- Danielle Bowman, volunteer field hockey coach

- Drew Courtright, volunteer middle school football coach

The school board also, on a 5-4 vote, approved the following extracurricular positions, pending contract negotiations, for the 2012-13 school year:

- Donald Delich, head girls' basketball coach, pending contract

- Anthony Thomas, assistant girls' basketball coach, pending contract.

Directors Darlene Yeakel, Susan Debski, Clarence Myers, Joshua Smale, and board President Barry Scherer were in favor. Directors Josann Harry, Tammy Recker, Sherry Haas, and Charles Gildner were opposed.
