The realities of domestic violence

Dear Editor:

I am writing this letter to educate the people of Lehighton and surrounding communities on domestic violence.

On Monday morning a hard working woman was brutely attacked by her ex-boyfriend in her home. He broke into her home and attacked her only weeks after appling for PFA at the courthouse.

She was told that she would have to attend a hearing to get the PFA. In the meantime this man was able to contact her place of employment and try to have her fired, and also was able to contact Children and Youth and have her investigated.

He used every avenue available to him to manipulate and to continue to control her life has he has done for the many years they were together. He threatened to kill her, and nearly succeded.
