Seek delinquent tax

Two area school districts are cracking down on property owners delinquent in payment of school taxes by filing suits in the county court.

Tamaqua Area School District is bringing action against the following:

Sandra Wykes, whom is alleged to owe $2,047.21 on property at 1104 Penn Drive, West Penn Township; Coleen M. Stidham, $644.25 on property at 225 Valley St., Schuylkill Township; Ruthann Miller, $2,674.83 on property at 103 Mahanoy Avenue, Rush Township; Robert D. and Beth Jones, $1,091.46 on property at 106 Greenwood St., Tamaqua; Joan E. Shilko, $1,115.80 on property at 123 Mahanoy St., Tamaqua; Lori Sharpe, $1,050.84 on property at 213 Cottage Avenue, Tamaqua; Robert P. and Emily A. Rossi, $904.86 on property at 126 Clay St., Tamaqua; MBR Inc.,$1,189.80 on property at 2058 West Penn Pike, West Penn Township; and $1,312 on property at 2060 West Penn Pike, West Penn Township; and Andrew J. and Margaret Miller, $740.94 on property at 203 Hunter St., Tamaqua.

Panther Valley School District filed suit against Frieda B. Wagner, $1,785.55 on property at 48-50 Greenwood St., Colaldale.

Divorces granted

Joanne M. Puhak was granted a divorce from Thomas J. Puhak, both of 26 W. Cranberry Alley, Sheppton, East Union Township. They were married Nov. 19, 1988.

Heather L. Maurer was granted a divorce from Robert H. Maurer, both of Ashland. They were married Nov. 27, 1999.

Devan R. Wenner, Pine Grove, was granted a divorce from Richard J. Wenner, Minersville. They were married Oct. 20, 2001.

Richard M. Dennis Sr., Mahanoy City, was granted a divorce from Jennifer Dennis, Cressona. They were married June 5, 2010.

Mary Louise Colihan was granted a divorce from James J. Colihan, both of Pottsville. They were married Sept. 26, 1999.

Mortgage foreclosure

Sabr Mortgage Loan Company, West Palm Beach, Fla., filed suit against Ingrid R. Tauber, 638 Westminster Road, Allentown, and Jeffrrey Tauber, 856 Lizard Creek Road, Andreas, West Penn Township, alleging they defaulted on mortgage payments on property at 856 Lizard Creek Road, Andreas, and seek a judgment for $296,367.19 plus interest and costs and foreclosure.

Pleads guilty

Rachel Evelyn Guscott, 22, Pottsville, pleaded guilty to a summary charge of disorderly conduct and was fined $200 by Judge Charles M. Miller and also ordered to pay $50 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account fund. A charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed.

Found guilty

Christine R. Hanlon, 53, Saint Clair, who was found guilty of harassment, was sentenced to serve 30 to 60 days in the county prison by Judge Charles Miller with credit for serving 13 days, fined $150, pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account fund, pay a $50 monthly supervision fee, and must enrolll in the Anger Management Program. A charge of simple assault against Bonita O'Donnell, 104 N. Main St., Shenandoah, was dismissed.

Jury trial

Jaimie M. Koch, 48, Pine Grove, who was found guilty last June 4 to a charge of delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia, was sentenced by Judge John E. Domalakes to serve three to 35 1/2 months in the county prison with the sentence to begin Saturday, Aug. 30, at 9 a.m. He received credit for serving seven days in prison. He also must pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Accout fund and a $50 monthly supervision fee.
