Lehighton girl wins CYO Declamation Contest
Clarissa Colondo, an eighth-grade student at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Lehighton, won first place in the annual CYO Diocesan Declamation Contest in Colesville; as well as first place in her district. This was her first time competing in the contest. To be eligible to compete on the diocesan level, students must be enrolled in a Catholic school, be in seventh or eighth grade, present a 10-minute speech and show their ability to execute good communication, body language, eye contact and self confidence. Clarissa is the daughter of Caroline Colondo of Lehighton, and Lance Colondo.
