Clothing giveaway

The Tamaqua Area Faith Fellowship Network has collected a number of gently-used uniforms and backpacks, as well as new school supplies, to be distributed to Tamaqua Area students before the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year. The distribution will be held from 5-8 p.m., today, Aug. 15, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Greenwood and Mauch Chunk streets.

The project is a joint effort of all the church congregations within the Tamaqua Area School District and was created to ease the financial burden, due to current economic conditions, of providing students with the appropriate school attire.
