Board of Health

The December meeting of the Tamaqua Board of Health was held at the Tamaqua Municipal Building with Randolph Gormley, Shirley Becker, James Gormley, Earl Boettger, health officer Judith Hadesty and health enforcement officer Joshua Esposito in attendance.

Esposito reported making a general inspection at Soley's Tavern and spot check inspections at Sisters' Cantina and Subway. He received and adjusted nine complaints during November: four concerning lack of water; two lack of heat; three about dog waste; one overcrowding situation; and one sewer leak.

There were no cases of reportable diseases for November.

The board meets monthly in the Tamaqua Municipal Building.

First Methodist

The Rev. James Cavallero will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday in First United Methodist Church. The service will include a children's message, offered by Marge Kropp, followed by children's Sunday school.

The Christmas Eve service, "Singstunde," will begin at 9 a.m. on Dec. 24.

Bethany EC

The Rev. Kevin Roberts will officiate at the 8 a.m. traditional and 10:30 a.m. contemporary worship services Sunday in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church. Nursery and primary church are offered during the later service. Sunday school classes will meet at 9:30 a.m.

Also on Sunday, the musician and praise team luncheon will be held at noon, followed by praise practice at 1 p.m.

Christmas Eve services will be Monday, at 3 p.m. for the traditional service and 7 p.m. for the contemporary service.

Musician practice is held Saturdays at 8:30 a.m., followed by praise practice at 9:30 a.m.
