Children's party

The Diligent Fire Company, Centre Ave., will hold its annual Christmas party for the children of the community, on Saturday, Dec. 22, at 1 p.m.

The affair is open to children up to the age of 10.

St. Mark's

The Christmas services for historic St. Mark's/St. John's Episcopal Church, Race St., are as follows: Dec. 24, 7 and 11 p.m. there will be a service in the main church.

On Christmas day, there will be an 8 a.m. service in the chapel.

St. John's Lutheran

St. John's Lutheran Church, South Ave., has announced it's Christmas services. There will be no Saturday services on Dec. 22 and 29. On Sunday, Dec. 23, 9:25 a.m. Sunday School; 10:30 a.m. worship service, and 4 p.m. Sunday School program.

Christmas Eve service will be candlelight communion beginning at 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 30, 9:15 a.m. Sunday School; and 10:30 a.m. lessons and carols.

Olde Tyme Christmas

The Sunday School of St. John's Lutheran Church, Heights will hold an Olde Tyme Christmas celebration on Sunday, Dec. 23, starting at 4 p.m. with recitations and songs. This will be followed by a covered dish supper and birthday cake for Jesus.

The evening will end with a Christmas pageant and words from the Rev. Muhr. Everyone of the parish is invited to attend.
