Placed in ARD
Gary Grant Baver Jr., Auburn, was recommended by District Attorney Karen Byrnes Noon to be placed in the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) probation program, because it was his first criminal offense to a non-violent crime.
Judge Jacqueline Russell admitted him into the program for 12 months and if he does not violate the terms fixed by court his record will be cleared. He was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol by Schuylkill Haven Patrolman Kenneth A. Jacoby, when stopped on East Union Street last March 19.
Baver also must pay a $500 fee to defray cost of the program, pay $300 to the Substance Abuse Education fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, a $50 monthly supervision fee, perform 10 hours of community service and his driver's license is suspended 60 days. On a summary charge of violating a stop sign was fined $25 plus $50 costs.
Revoke probation
Joshua Robert Ptaszkowski, 22, Shenandoah, had his probation revoked by Judge John E. Domalakes and he was re-sentenced on a charge of simple assault to serve eight to 24 months in a state correctional facility with credit for serving 27 days in the county prison. He had been found guilty by a jury in September 2009 and after serving time in prison was released on probation.Treasurer's report
County Treasurer Jacqueline McGovern released a report on the county's financial status showing a beginnig balance on January 2 of all funds was $43,217,064.06 and at the end of the month was $41,861,420.49. The beginning balance of the general fund was $14,316,027.98 and ending balance $13,136,516.97.
During the month $1,121,419.37 was collected in real estate taxes, $56,900.35, funded debt tax totaled $56,900.36 and per capita tax collected was $423,895.26. Revenues from sale of licenses by her office was $4,962.30 for dog tags, $33 for fishing licenses, $25 for hunting licenses, $400 for bingo license and $2,250 for small game of chance.
Other revenues were, magisterial district justices fees collected, $47,620.26; tariff collected on land phones in homes, $62,089.89 which go to defray costs of operating the 9-1-1 Emergendy Center and hotel tax, $14,603.46.

Deborah A. Bernadyn, 12 Deer Run Road, Apt. 1A, West Hazleton, started a divorce action against Edward J. Bernady, 228 W. Mahanoy Ave., Mahanoy City. They were married April 7, 1973.
Divorces Granted
Maureenm Lynne Reppy, Palo Alto, was granted a divorce from George R. Reppy, 24 Hughes St., New Ringgold. They were married July 24, 2010.
Corinne A. Rodenroth was granted a divorce from Jeffrey D. Rodenroth, both of Auburn. They were married March 3, 2009.
