Fredericks graduated from York College of Pennsylvania

Matthew T. Fredericks, son of Tom and Janice Fredericks of Tamaqua, graduated from York College of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of science degree in Forensic Chemistry, with dual minors in Criminal Justice and Biology. Commencement exercises were held in December 2011.

In March of 2011, Fredericks presented his research on the analysis of gun shot residue in the rain at the ACS National meeting in Anaheim, Calif. He was also a presenter at the Mid-Atlantic Association of Forensic Scientists in May of 2011.

The 2006 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School has continued conducting research on the topic and will present his findings at this year's ACS National meeting, to be held this March in San Diego, Cal. He is currently employed by BASF, working in New Jersey as an associate chemist.
