Child molester

A Pottsville man pleaded guilty to having indecent deviate sexual intercourse with an eight year old child and was given a long state prison sentence.

Kim L. May, 32, Pottsville, was sentenced by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin to serve 10 to 20 years with credit for serving 99 days in the county prison.

On a charge of corruption of a minor was sentenced to serve an addtional six years under state probation to begin at the expiration of his first sentence. He received concurring sentences on two counts of aggravated indecent assault and one count of indecent assault.

When released he will have to comply with all sexual offender registration requirements and shall have no contact with the victim or any minor child other than his biological children and that contact must be supervised. He was cited by Pottsville Det. Steven Guers.

Guilty of DUI

Justin M. Neff, 26, Minersville, who was found guilty by a jury on Dec. 6, 2011, of driving under the influence (DUI) was sentenced by Judge Dolbin to serve one to five years in a state correctional facility.

He was also ordered to pay a fine of $2,500, pay $100 to the Substance Abuse Education fund, $100 to the Catastrophe fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center.

Neff also must make restitution of $481.32 to Linda Dietrich, whose chain link fence he damaged with his car in the 300 block on N. Fourth Street, Pottsville. On a charge of careless driving he was fined $25 plus $50 coss. He was cited by Patrolman Paul R. Olson.

Revoke probation

Nicholas Baney, 31, Girardville, had his probation revoked by President Judge William E. Baldwin and he was re-sentenced on a charge of unauthorized use of a pickup truck owned by Gary Cuthie, Girardville, to serve four to 23 months in the county prison, however, since he has been incarcerated for 113 days he was granted immedate parole. He had pleaded gulty to the charge last August and was placed on probation.

File for divorce

Tara Strauss, Rabbit Run Road, Andreas, West Penn Township, started a divorce proceeding against James Strauss, 12 Archery Lane, Tamaqua. They were married July 31, 2009.

Annette Nowacki, 318 Van Gelder St., Tamaqua, was granted a divorce from John Marasiak, 354 Foster Avenue, Coaldale. They were married Oct. 3, 1982.

Teel F. Welsh Sr. was granted a divorce from Patricia C. Welsh, both of Schuylkill Haven. They were married Dec. 24, 1998.

Scott Schwalm, Hegins, was granted a divorce from Priscilla Schwalm, Lebanon. They were married Dec. 29, 1999.

Silvia D. Zambrano and Michael A. Kubasek, 50 Buck Mountain Road, Zion Grove.

Jennifer Karpovich was granted a divorce from Peter J. Karpovich, both of Ringtown. They were married Dec. 5, 1998.

Herbert R. Zerbe was granted a divorce from Ashley L. Zerbe, both of Pine Grove. They were married May 17, 2004.

Doreen M. Doran, Summit Station, was granted a divorce from Edward F. Doran, Branchdale. They were married July 19, 2002.
