Jim Thorpe couple wed 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Luther D. Snyder of Jim Thorpe recently celebrated their golden anniversary.

They were married by the Rev. Schlessman on Jan. 6, 1962, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jim Thorpe.

Mrs. Snyder is the former Lynn E. Sellers, daughter of the late Willard and Evelyn Sellers, and stepdaughter of the late Russell Shanfelt, Jim Thorpe. Her husband is the son of the late Guy and Margaret Snyder, Normal Square.

The couple has three children, Shelley Snyder, Atlanta, Ga.; Brian and Sherry Snyder, Jim Thorpe; and Chris Snyder, Tamaqua.

They also have four grandchildren; Lilly, Zoe, Autumn and Nora Snyder.

A party to celebrate the occasion was held Dec. 30.
