N.J. arrested for theft of ski resort

A New Jersey resident has been arrested for stealing snowboards at a Carbon County ski resort.

State police at Lehighton said Anthony James Capaldo, of the 600 block of Huff Ave., in Manville, was apprehended by security staff at the Blue Mountain Ski Resort in Lower Towamensing Township, on Tuesday, Jan. 3. Security personnel allegedly observed Capaldo stealing three separate snowboards. The thefts occurred on Dec. 23 at 4:15 p.m.; Dec. 28 at 8:45 p.m.; and Dec. 29 at 7 p.m.

He was charged with three counts of receiving stolen property. He was arraigned before a district judge and committed to the county prison in Nesquehoning in lieu of $10,000 bail, troopers said.
