Penn State Co-op extension offers backyard program

Learn to create or enhance the natural areas around your home at an all day "Woods in Your Backyard" workshop offered by the Penn State Cooperative Extension in Schuylkill County. The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 21 at the Schuylkill County Ag Center, 1202 Ag Center Dr., Pottsville.

County Master Gardeners and the extension will provide information about creating recreational areas, developing the native landscape, forest ecology, forest management, improving wildlife habitat and how to create a personal plan using a workbook.
