State police at Lehighton reported investigating two crashes recently, both occurring in Ross Township, Monroe County.

The first occurred about noon on Tuesday, Jan. 3, off SR115 in the parking lot of the Gateway Motel. Troopers said Gabrielle R. Hoadley, 17, of Wind Gap, drove his 1997 Ford Taurus over a boulder placed at the entrance to the motel causing damage to the undercarriage. The boulder was placed by employees at the motel to prevent vehicles from driving over newly patched potholes, troopers said. No injuries were reported.

The second crash occurred about 12:10 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5, along Kunkletown Road. Troopers said Mary J. Lucrezi, 79, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2010 Jeep Patriot westbound and attempting to make a right turn into a service station when the vehicle hit the curb and then a stop sign at the entrance.

Lucrezi then backed up and entered the lot and hit another curb where the Jeep came to rest. No injuries were reported. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

Lucrezi was cited for careless driving, troopers added.
