Published January 12. 2012 05:01PM

A traffic stop in Carbon County has led to a drug charge and arrest of a man wanted on a warrant.

State police at Lehighton said the incident occurred about 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, in the 300 block of East Alley in Lehighton.

Troopers stopped a vehicle at that location in which Trevor Hunsicker, of Cedar St., Lehighton, was a passenger. There was an active warrant for Hunsicker's arrest and he was taken into custody.

The driver gave permission for a search of the vehicle. Found were 25 glassine baggies containing heroin and a hypodermic needle. Hunsicker admitted the drug items belonged to him, troopers said.

Hunsicker was placed in the county jail on the warrant with drug charges to be filed, troopers added.
