St. Paul Lutheran
The Rev. Robert Brueckner, a retired pastor from Nescopeck, will lead the worship service on Sundays, Jan. 15 and 22, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill. The services will begin at 10:30 a.m.
The church's Sunday school will meet at 9 a.m.
A meeting of the church's Worship & Music Committee will be held immediately following the service.
Members of the Sunday School/Youth Group are asked to note the group activity that had been scheduled for Jan. 22 has been canceled.
Church members who are responsible for submitting year-end congregational reports are reminded they are due by Jan. 29 for the congregational meeting that will be held on Feb. 5.
Food pantry
The Summit Hill Food Pantry, headquartered in the Heritage Center at Hazard and Chestnut streets, will hold its regular monthly pantry distribution on Tuesday, Jan. 24, from 10 a.m. to noon. The doors will open promptly at 10 o'clock. Those attending are asked to bring tote bags for "extras."
Lansford
AMVETS meeting
The Sons of the AMVETS, Squadron 83, Lansford, will meet on Sunday, Jan. 15, at 7 p.m. in the post home. Commander Bob Soltis will be in charge of the meeting.
Nesquehoning
Zion Lutheran Church
Sunday morning worship begins at 9 a.m. The Rev. Marjorie Keiter will preside. Visitors are always welcome.
The annual congregational meeting will be held on Sunday, Jan. 15 immediately following morning worship. Reports from 2011 will be reviewed and the 2012 budget will be presented for adoption.
Elections of council persons will be held to fill three terms that expired at the end of 2011.
Meeds Methodist Church
The food bank will be open on Thursday, Jan. 19 from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
A community dinner will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25.
Senior boxes will be distributed on Friday, Jan. 27 from 10 a.m. to noon.
