Wounded Warriors hunt at Clover Hollow
Four Mile Outfitters and the Keystone Wounded Warriors Project have teamed with Clover Hollow Hunting Preserve, Lime Kiln Road, Slatington, to provide U.S. Marine Sgt. Jonathan Tompkins, a Berks County native, the opportunity to hunt pheasants, quail and chukars, Saturday, Jan. 28.
According to Tom Frendak, a former athlete at Panther Valley and one of the organizers of Four Mile Outfitters, this is the first of what is hoped to be many outdoors adventures the organization has planned for military personnel through the Wounded Warriors Project. Both the national organization and the Keystone Wounded Warriors Project are non-profit corporations which seek to honor the daily sacrifices made by the men and women in all branches of the United States Military, but specifically those wounded on or after September 11, 2001.
"It's more than taking Sgt. Tompkins on a pheasant hunt, it's a reminder that every American, every single person can do something to support our nation's Wounded Warriors," Frendak said. "We thank the staff of Clover Hollow for helping us with obligations to our wounded veterans."
