Jim Thorpe couple celebrates 40 years

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Melber of Jim Thorpe celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Sunday.

They were married on Jan. 15, 1972 by the late Rev. William Liefield in St. John's Lutheran Church in Jim Thorpe.

Mrs. Melber is the former Shelley Williams, daughter of Bernice Williams and the late Milton Williams of Jim Thorpe. She is employed by the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit.

Mr. Melber is the son of the late Dollie and Nathan Melber of Jim Thorpe. He is a retired state park ranger.

The Melbers have three sons: Jay and his wife Nicole of Allentown; and Mike and Jeremy of Jim Thorpe.

They have one grandson, Jakob Tanner Melber.
