Fillies, Bomber matmen both score wins
The Marian girls basketball team and the Palmerton wrestling squad both posted wins in scholastic action on Monday.
The Fillies rolled past Williams Valley, while the Bombers defeated North Schuylkill.
WRESTLING
Palmerton

Palmerton used four falls and three forfeits to help gain a 45-30 non-league victory over North Schuylkill.
The Blue Bombers gained pins from Josh Evans (113 pounds), Dillon Masington (126), Kane Kralik (220) and Tyler Rosenberry (285).
Zack Christman also contributed to the win with a decision at 132.

Pine Grove used a 16-3 advantange at the free throw line to help earn a Schuylkill League Division 1 win over Panther Valley.
The Cardinals went 16-of-25 at the charity stripe in gaining a 42-38 victory.
Shannon Zimmerman tallied a team-high 12 points, including a 6-of-7 effort at the line, while Adi Geiger finished with 11.
For the Panthers (7-7), Madison Blasko led all scorers with 15 points. Teammate Abbey Whildin chipped in with eight.

Marian extended its Schuylkill League Division 3 lead after cruising to a 52-15 win over Williams Valley.
Coupled with Nativity's loss to Tri-Valley, the Fillies (11-2; 7-0) now hold a three-game advantage over the Golden Girls.
Kaysi McLaughlin and Kelly Shober each had six points in the opening quarter as the hosts raced to a 16-2 lead.
McLaughlin finished with a game-high 17 points while Shober tossed in 14.
In the JV game, Marian earned a 33-21 win.
