Tamaqua man cited for conduct
A Tamaqua man has been cited following an altercation Jan. 8 in the area of the Family Dollar Store.
Patrolman Peter Wysochansky was on patrol at 9:56 p.m. when a man ran out in front of the cruiser. The man, who identified himself as Robert Christman, 42, of 406 Pitt St., Tamaqua, had his face covered in blood, telling the officer he had just been assaulted by Jason Weaver, 30, of 28 Market St. The blood was coming from Christman's nose.
Weaver was apprehended in the area of Pine and Mauch Chunk streets and related that he had been walking in the area with his girlfriend, Haley Tee. The two were having an arguement when they were confronted by Weaver. The two men exchanged words leading Weaver to punch Christman in the nose.
Tee was interviewed at her Pine Street home telling the officer she and Weaver were arguing when they met Christman. When the two men began arguing she continued walking to her home and did not see the physical altercation.
Weaver was cited for disorderly conduct and harassment.
