Panthers, Raiders post Schuylkill wins
Panther Valley and Tamaqua both picked up wins in Schuylkill League boys basketball action on Wednesday night.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Panther Valley-Schuylkill Haven
Panther Valley outscored Schuylkill Haven 37-4 in the first half and went on to win easily, 61-35.
Nate Mathewson led the Panthers (8-8) with 18 points. Teammate Steve Romanchik added 13.

The Raiders put together three strong quarters for a 54-42 win over the Hilltoppers for their fifth win of the season.
Jake Fegley threw in 19 points, while Brett Kosciolek added 16 and Matt Kurek 10 for the Raiders.
Jeff Yordy led Nativity with 11.
Zach Wargula had 11 points to lead Tamaqua to a sweep with a 33-29 win.

Chelsea Smelas and Celeste Robinson both had big games as Jim Thorpe rolled to a 72-30 non-league win over Freeland MMI.
Smelas scored 23 points and Robinson added 21 for the Olympians, who improved to 16-1 on the season. Kristin Lawrence added 10 points for Thorpe.
