Dog licenses
Schuylkill County treasurer Jackie McGovern reminds residents that 2012 dog licenses are now available.
Dogs 3 months of age or older must be licensed by law.
Licenses may be obtained at the county courthouse in Pottsville, by mail, online at www.padoglicense.com or at a variety of licensing agents.
Locally, those agents include AAA at 202 E. Broad St.; Tom's Auto and Marine, Greenwood Street and Mountain Avenue; and Koch's Farm Service in the Lewistown Valley.

GriefShare
Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church will again host a GriefShare program designed to assist those who have suffered the loss of a loved one. The course is Biblically based, but non-denominational.
Meetings will begin on Feb. 8.
They will then be held Wednesdays, at 7 p.m., for the next 13 weeks. Meetings will be held in the church conference room, at 223 E. Broad St.

First Methodist
The Rev. James Cavallero will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. Hymnsing/Feed A Friend service this Sunday in First United Methodist Church. Adult Sunday school will meet at 9:30 a.m.
Children's Sunday school is held during the worship service on the first and third Sundays of each month.
Activities for next week include: Tuesday, quilters meet at 9:30 a.m.:Wednesday, chancel choir rehearsal is at 7 p.m.
Zion Lewistown
The Rev. Sunny Stock will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Zion Church in the Lewistown Valley.
Sunday school classes will meet at 9:30 a.m.
St. John UCC
The Rev. Kevin Duffy Guy will officiate at the 9:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday in St. John United Church of Christ.
The service will be followed by a time of fellowship. Sunday school classes for all ages will be held at 11 a.m.
The weekly radio program will be aired on WLSH - AM1410, at 11:30 a.m.
Also on Sunday, the Confrmation class will meet from noon to 1 p.m.
Choir rehearsals are held Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. and the finance committee will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
St. John Lutheran
The Rev. Phyllis Wolford will officiate at the 9:15 a.m. worship service this Sunday in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. Sunday school and Confirmation classes will meet at 10:30 a.m.
Activities for next week include: Wednesday, deadline for ffth grade parents to RSVP; Thursday, Angel Choir rehearsal at 6 p.m., Shepherd Choir meets at 6:30 p.m., Chancel/Adult Choir rehearses at 6:30 p.m.
