July 5, 1988 Joe Gillespie pitches a no-hitter and also hits a walk-off homer to lift Summit Hill to a 2-1 win over Bowmanstown in the Carbon-Schuylkill Youth Baseball League championship game. Gillespie walks four and strikes out 15 in his gem. The only run he allows comes on a passed ball. Gillespie finishes with two hits and scores both his team's runs. Mark Kokinda knocks in Summit Hill's other run with a sacrifice fly. Bowmanstown's Travis Williams suffers the loss despite giving up just three hits while striking out 11.
