Rush-Ryan seniors
The Rush, Ryan and Delano Senior Citizens Inc. met July 10 at the Ryan Township Fire Company with 44 members and two guests in attendance.
The meeting began with an installation of officers, with past president Sylvia Garcia conducting the ceremony. The slate of officers includes Eleanor Schmerfeld, president; Nancy Godanis, vice president; Shirley Becker, treasurer; and Gloria Gerhard, secretary.
The business session was conducted by Schmerfeld and reports were offered by Gerhard and Becker.
Birthday greetings were extended to: Dolores Walck, Shirley Becker, Nancy Messerschmidt, Tina Frey, Rhoda Purnell, Jim Valentine and Gloria Gerhard.
The annual picnic will be held July 24, beginning at noon, at St. Peter's Church Grove.
The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. Anyone 50 or older is welcome to join.
St. John's Lutheran Church
The Reverend Phyllis J. Wolford will preside at the worship service at the church, 200 East Broad St., on the Eighth Sunday of Pentacost, July 22 at 9:15 a.m. All are welcome. 'The Messenger' will be assembled Thursday, July 26 at 1 p.m. and on the same day the Finance Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Summer office hours are Tues., Wed. and Thurs. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. They are asking people to call first before visiting due to vacation schedules.
Zion Church
Zion Stone Church, Lewistown Valley, will hold Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and Church Service at 10:45 a.m. with Pastor Sunny Stock officiating.
There will be a Zion PreSchool meeting on July 24th at 7 p.m. Parishioners added that the the deadline to order your tickets for Faith Night at the Phillies is July 22.
