Playoffs begin on Friday

The Carbon County Babe Ruth Baseball League has announced its 2012 playoff schedule.

The league will open its eight-team, single-elimination playoffs on Friday with four quarterfinal games. The semifinals will take place on Saturday with the championship game scheduled for Monday at Christman Field in Franklin Township.

Following is the playoff schedule:

Friday, June 22

Quarterfinals

No. 1 seed JT Bruins vs No. 8 seed FT Hawks at Jim Thorpe High School, 5:45 p.m.

No. 2 seed FT Falcons vs No. 7 seed FT Patriots at Franklin Township Christman Field, 5:45 p.m.

No. 3 seed JT Royals vs No. 6 seed Lansford Elk Lighting at Franklin Township Christman Field, 7:45 p.m.

No. 4 seed Lansford Krajcirik's vs No. 5 seed Towamensing Tigers at Lansford Babe Ruth Field, 5:45 p.m.
