Northern Valley, Tamaqua lose

Northern Valley's offense couldn't get much going against Lower Macungie and suffered a Lehigh Valley Legion loss on Tuesday.

Tamaqua, meanwhile, was hurt by nine errors in dropping a Schuylkill-Berks contest to Pottsville.

Lower Macungie scored two early runs in the first inning to help secure a 4-1 victory over Northern Valley.

Kirk Bender, Payton Bachman, Cody Hallman, Austin Kelly, Tyler Harris each had a hit for Northern Valley.

Colin Breidinger also had a hit and knocked in the only run for the Chargers.

Vinny Romano had three hits and scored three runs for Lower Macungie.

Tamaqua held Pottsville scoreless for the first two innnings, but then gave up eight runs over the last four to drop an 8-4 decision.

Pottsville's Miranda went the distance, giving up just three runs on seven hits.

Moser paced Pottsville with two hits and an RBI.

Tamaqua's troubles came from nine errors on the day.

Dylan Delay had three hits and an RBI for Tamaqua, with Matt Roberts getting two hits and an RBI, and Troy Reinhardt chipping in with two hits.

Franklin Township scored got off to a great start, scoring four runs in the first inning to down M/T 9-4.

Dane Ciavarella was the catalyst for the Hurricanes getting two hits, including a double.

Towamensing used a solid outing from pitcher Greg Wierzbicki to get the 5-2 victory over Pocono Mountain.

Wierzbicki went seven innings, allowing five hits, two runs, and struck out five.

For Towamensing, Tom Wokoff knocked in a run and Tanner Gutenkust had two hits and an RBI.

Franklin Township used a three-run fifth inning to cop a 7-5 win over Hazleton.

James Farano had a nice day on the mound for FT. Farano pitched seven innings, giving up just three runs and striking out seven.

FT's AJ Weinrich, Alex Storm, Thatcher David, and Anthony Rossino all had RBIs.

Towamensing-Weatherly

Towamensing took care of Weatherly 11-3.

Brock Bollinger had three hits for Towamensing, including a triple, and two runs scored.

Tyler Roe helped out in the winning effort with two hits and Colby Kunkle had seven K's on the mound.

Tamaqua (White)

Towamensing edged Tamaqua 13-8 for the win.

Brock Bollinger had two hits and three RBIs on the day for Towamensing.

Matt Doherty connected for three hits, Tyler Roe had three hits, and Jared Zacharias added two hits.

Nate Filloy had three hits for Tamqua.

Jim Thorpe-Anthracite

Jim Thorpe handled Anthracite for the 13-2 win in five innings.

Jake Schwartz had three hits for Jim Thorpe as well as getting the win on the hill.

The winners had 13 hits as a team.

Aaron Miller had two hits for Anthracite.
