Kickboxing event on Saturday in Jim Thorpe
Jim Thorpe Memorial Hall will host a kickboxing event Saturday, March 10.
Erin Go Brawl will feature 10 bouts starting at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
Erin Go Brawl with its Irish theme will help kickoff St. Paddy's Day events and will have some of the finest kickboxers in action. The promoters from Rock The Cage MMA, LLC have assembled a full slate of action from the Wolfpack Fighters and its trainer Joe Gudinas who train at the Xtreme Fitness Center in St. Clair.
Lisa Hoffman, an up-an-coming woman kickboxer will be part of one of the main events. The 155-pounder will be engaging in her fourth event and she is undefeated.
Two Pottsville boxers will be on the card including Jason Setlock at 170 pounds and Brain Gotshall at 225 pounds. Dominc Laurer, also of Pottsville will be in the ring at 220 pound event, and Ashland's lighting quick 125-pound Eric Hoffman will battle as well.
The Wolfpack fighters will be pitted against teams form Scranton, Bloomsburg and the Pocono Mountain/Stroudsburg gyms. Fans can purchase tickets by calling Jim Thorpe Memorial Hall and asking for Tracy at 570-325-4746, 570-657-1356; or by calling Xtreme Fitness at 570-429-2404 or 570-590-7056.
Tickets are $25 for general admission for the kickboxing event, which will have refreshments and catered food as well.
Earlier in the day, a Grappling Tournament Gi/No-Gi takes place at 11 a.m. Tickets for the grappling tournament are $10 for adults; under the age of 12, $5.
