Palmerton coaching positions approved

Palmerton Area School Board on Tuesday approved the following extracurricular positions, pending contract negotiations, for the 2012-13 school year:

- David Lavin, head wrestling coach

- Francis McCarrol, assistant boys' basketball coach

- James Barron, assistant boys' basketball coach

- Michael Lusch, assistant football coach

- Katelyn Boyd, volunteer softball coach

- On an 8-1 vote, Michael Stefanek, head boys' basketball coach. Director Sherry Haas was opposed.

The board also approved the following extracurricular position as per the negotiated contract for the 2011-12 school year:

- Gerald Kresge, volunteer softball coach
