March 24, 1962 Jackie Morgan scores a game-high 20 points to help lead Jim Thorpe to a 51-40 victory over Clarion to win the PIAA Class C state championship. The Olympians, coached by Kenny Kline, trail by a 15-8 score after the first quarter before rallying for the win and the title. George Armbruster and Paul Hydro both finish the contest, played at New Castle High School, with 12 points while Art Guth chips in with six.
