May 8, 2000 Jake Tarr rips a three-run homer and Geoff Kelowitz tosses a five-hitter to help lead Jim Thorpe to a 6-3 Schuylkill League Division 3 win over Marian. Kelowitz strikes out eight batters in going the full seven innings. He retires six of the final seven batters to secure the victory. Tarr's blast comes in the second inning to give the Olympians, coached by John Searfoss, the lead for good. Tarr also walks an scores another run. The winners also receive two hits and a run scored from Matt Petrucci.
