Long probation
Ronald Joseph Weiss, 45, Pottsville, pleaded guilty to three counts of defiant trespass on property at 1651 Summer Hill Road, South Manheim Township, last June and was sentenced by Judge John E. Domalakes to serve on probation for 36 months, pay a fine of $100, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and a $50 monthly supervision fee. Under a plea bargaining 13 counts of possessing firearms were nol prosed, however, the court ordered they be destroyed. Weiss was cited by Trooper Alyssa J. Becker.
Credit card debts
Portfolio Recover Association, LLC, Norfolk,Va., filed suit against Michelle Atiyeh, 21 Miler Lane, Tamaqua, alleging an unpaid balance of $1,601.43 remains on her credit card.
Bank of New York Mellon, Getzville, N.Y., filed suit against Brian K. Brode, 535 Arlington St., Tamaqua, alleging a balance of $9,221.27 remains unpaid.
3 counts of DUI
Pleading guilty to three counts of driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol resulted in a jail sentence for Anthony Joseph Panchari, 68, of Seltzer, Norwegian Township.
Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin sentenced Panchari to serve 72 hours to 12 months in the county prison but if he completes his minimum 72 hours without incident he will be released on parole for the balance of his sentence. He faces payments of a large amount of money,$1,600 in fines, $180 to the Schuylkill Medical Center, $150 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund, $500 to the Substance Abuse Education fund, and his driver's license is suspended 12 months. He also must pay a $25 fine each for failing to drive on a roadway laned for traffic, failing to drive at a safe speed, careless driving, and disorderly conduct plus $150 in costs.
Divorces granted
Bonnie P. Painter was granted a divorce from Howard T. Painter III, both of 52 Bernhard Rd., Barnesville. They were married Jan. 8, 1994.
Kathryn E. Barron was granted a divorce from Chad G. Barron, both of 111 S. Elizabeth St., Tamaqua. They were married May 16, 1998.
Cassandra J. Lettich, Sacramento, Hubley Township, was granted a divorce from Casey L. Dudeck, Hegins. They were married June 5, 2010.
Daniel Cappella was granted a divorce from Lesley Cappella, both of Pottsville. They were married April 21, 2001.
Revoke probation
Tammy Lee Heffner, 54, Valley View, Hegins Township, had her probation revoked by President Judge William E. Baldwin and she was re-sentenced to undergo confinement for not less than time served (four days) to 23 months. She had pleaded guilty on May 5, 2011, to a charge of passing a check on a closed bank account for a fuel bill and was placed on probation 18 months. Her probation was revoked because she failed to report being arrested while on probation.
Delayed start
Christopher Michael Pate, 32, Schuylkill Haven, failed to appear at the county prison last March 4 after being sentenced by Judge Charles M. Miller to serve 60 to 90 days on a charge of driving while his operating privileges were suspended-DUI related. He had entered a guilty plea to the charge last Feb. 22 and his sentence was deferred to March. Pate was picked up on a bench warrant and is now in prison serving his sentence.
