May 11, 1941 Clyde Werkeiser goes the distance on the mound in leading Mauch Chunk to an 8-3 Black Diamond League win over Summit Hill. Werkheiser allows seven hits and strikes out nine batters. At the plate he adds a hit and run scored. Horwath collects three hits, including a two-run double, while Jack Esrang contributes a pair of hits and a run scored. The winners, coached by "Bud" Seitz, also receive two hits from "Bum" Stianchi.
