May 22, 1961 Terry Watto breaks a tie game with a sixth-inning RBI triple and Jim Thorpe hangs on to post a 3-2 Mountain League victory over White Haven. Watto's extra-base hit drives in Don Deemer, who scores two runs in the contest. Bernie Strubinger makes the lead stand by retiring the side in order in the sixth and seventh frame. Strubinger finishes with a complete-game three-hitter. The Olymians also receive an RBI hit from Stroud Hiller.
