Bible study
The next gathering of the Women's Ecumenical Bible Study will be held on Wednesday, May 23, at 6:30 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue. It will be held in the Good Shepherd room of the church.
Dean's list
Laura McGavin, daughter of Len and Joann McGavin of town, has been placed on the dean's list at the University of the Cumberlands, Williamsburg, Ky.
Laura is majoring in psychology and when she returns for the fall semester, she will be a senior. She is a graduate of Carbon County Technical Institute.
Veterans Day program
The kindergarten classes at the L.B. Morris Elementary School, under the direction of teachers, Ginger Flisack, Shannon Fannock, Erica O'Donnell and Shawn Bierman, will present a Veterans Day program for all local veterans. It will take place on Friday, May 25, at 1 p.m. at the school.
Refreshments will be served to all that attend following the program. If you wish more information you may call the school at (570) 325-2703. All local veterans are invited to attend.
Sunday School
Sunday, May 27, will be the last day for Sunday School classes at St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue, for the summer months. The Sunday school resumes on Aug. 26, which will be Rally Day.
