Coaldale

First Congregational Church

Donations of non-perishable food items for Harvest Home will be accepted at First Congregational Church, Coaldale, beginning Sunday, Nov. 4. Contributions will be accepted until Nov. 18.

Morning Worship will be held Nov. 4 at 9 a.m. followed by Sunday School for all ages at 10 a.m.

Women's Class will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6. The theme will be "Acts of Kindness." A social hour will be held following the meeting and all area women are welcome to attend.

On Wednesday, Nov. 7, church members will visit St. Luke's Miner's Geriatric Center, Coaldale, at 11 a.m. and Maple Shade, Nesquehoning, at 1:30 p.m. Later on Wednesday, Kids Klub and Bible Study will be held, both at 6 p.m. and rehearsal for the Community Choir, which will sing for the Veteran's Day Service on Nov. 11, will rehearse at 7 p.m.

Veterans from the Panther Valley will be paid tribute during the Veterans Day Service at 9 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 11. Sunday School is set for 10 a.m.

The public is welcome to attend all of the above events.

Summit Hill

SHICO meeting

The Summit Hill Community Improvement Organization will meet on Monday, Nov. 5 at the Borough Hall at 7 p.m. Nomination of officers for 2013 will be be discussed. All interested citizens are welcome.

President Maxine Vermillion will lead the meeting.
